agreed. the exposure rate is too high right now, however, the right take on zombies can be awesome, ex: dance of the dead (movie), breathers (novel), and the upcoming pride and prejudice and zombies.

I think I'd rather have 28 days later zombies if I had to choose between the two for a zombie apocolypse.
Sure, they're faster, spread infection easier, and are way more aggressive, but they starve to death. If you can get a decent hide out somewhere with enough supplies, you could outlast them within a few months tops, they're also easier to kill than romero zombies. Romero zombies apparently don't starve to death, and they last for years.
This is of course assuming you make it long enough to be able to find a safe shelter, I can't run for shit and rage infected are pretty fast.

Romeo zombies would, in theory, starve to death to.
No matter what you are, if you don't eat, you'll start looking like a starving Ethiopian child sooner or later.
No muscle = no moving.
No moving = zombie stomping funtime.
Of course, all this is dependant that the zombies wouldn't turn and eat each other for survival.

Yeah, but by Land of the Dead, the zombies were still very much a threat, and they didn't look unhealthy. I'm sure eventually their bodies will wither away, but how long would it take them? They lasted for years already. Hard to say.
Besides, they don't eat for sustenence, they try to eat even when their stomach is removed, even when they are just a head, see Day of the Dead.
