From what I have seen, it's a decent show and I kinda like it, but the story isn't very original.

    Humans vs. Robots.
    Yay...

Nonetheless, I'm downloading every episode ever made as we speak.

while BSG's simplified form of the story can be broken down to the very basic "human vs robot" equation, I hope the difference is understood that the most basic, ideological premise of a story isn't always representative of the whole. coming from someone who watches House, a show that can be labeled just as easily as "medical drama", which can obviously off-put some people, your defense of it as much more than that stands just as validly concerning BSG. without either of you watching it long enough to see any story arc develop, it's blind-sighted to simply write it off like that

I'd also like to point out that I enjoy House, but because of the complexity of the character interaction and well-written dialogue rather than the "story". like QY said, it's the issues that the stories bring to light and deal with rather than the broken-down and over-analyzed actions taken to advance a plot line

the only problem that i have with BSG is it drags for me. i honestly think the script could be better. it's like...it's good...but i feel like it's missing something.

Best show, with the worst name. If you can get passed the title and the use of the word "frak" istead of fuck (i mean hey, it's sci-fi channel), you'll be amazed at how good it gets.
The whole idea of man versus machines isn't a new concept. From the Terminator movies, to the books "1984", any "Foundation" book, and "Player Piano", the initial idea has been done over and over. What sets this one apart from those is everything is done in a very low "sci-fi" style. No lasers, teleporter's, or gey scince fictiony space uniforms. I'm a major dork for this show and totally recommend it to any noobs getting in to it.
